Life expectancy in the USA rose in 2012 to 78.8 years. This is wonderful news for many, but also brings about the prospect that many of us are, or will be, caring for aging loved ones. By 2030, there will be about 72.1 million older persons, more than twice their number in 2000.
A new documentary airing on PBS, “Caring for Mom and Dad” explores the various rewards and many struggles that families have faced when the adult children take on the caretaking role for parents.
