What are consequences to my loved one if I report abuse or neglect?

Legally, there should be no consequence. However, practically retaliation is a common concern, and one that needs to be addressed. People should voice their concerns in most situations. If you suspect retaliation, report it immediately to the director of nursing, administrator and state agency for your nursing home.
